Are Your Staff Washing/Sanitising Their Hands?

Are Your Staff Washing/Sanitising Their Hands?

Staff absenteeism could be disrupting the efficiency of your workforce. Each member of staff in your company plays a unique and key role. Illnesses such as coughs and colds, accounted for approximately 6.3 Million days lost in the year of 2016. Respondents in the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) Absentee Management Survey of 2016, reported that nearly three quarters of organisations involved, experienced staff presentism (When staff are ill at work). We have between 2-10 million bacteria between our fingertips and elbows, this can double after using the toilets. Most infections are caused by naturally occurring harmful bacteria and viruses being passed by hand contact. There is an inexpensive and effective way to prevent the spread of germs in your workplace. Hand washing is the single most effective step in breaking this chain of cross contamination and preventing the transmission of foodborne illness, colds and infection in the workplace; ensuring compliance with legislation. After washing your hands and also for visibly clean hands, AHS recommends protecting your hands with Enduro, our alcohol free, moisturising hand santiser that continues to work 2 hours after application:  Absolute Hygiene Hand Care...
Nature has forced business owners, schools and colleges to consider emergency floor protection.

Nature has forced business owners, schools and colleges to consider emergency floor protection.

With adverse weather conditions affecting most of the UK over the past week, nature has forced business owners, schools and colleges to consider emergency floor protection.  Heavy snow and ice mixed with grit and salt has not only created a huge mess, but a health and safety nightmare!  Nowadays, the threat of a law suit if a floor becomes a slip hazard is a very real fear, but this is completely avoidable with AHS barrier matting. A nearby village shop which doubles as a Post Office has been a hive of activity, experiencing constant footfall throughout the day due to local schools being closed. The old and tired door mat literally coudn’t cope!  So the shopkeeper resorted to opening up large cardboard boxes to cover the floor, which then became soaked through, creating an unsightly mess! The floor needed constant mopping to avoid slips or falls as customers came in and out. A simple large traffic mat at the entrance would soak up the melted snow, trapping it along with the salt and dirt; runner mating in the aisles would add further protection.  The old vintage tea rooms have a beautiful brand new wooden floor. The owner has to put up a notice asking all customers to remove their snowy shoes and to leave them at her front door which will undoubtedly lose her business.   When you’re investing in quality flooring of any kind, it pays to consider entrance matting from the outset. The industrial rubber backed carpet mats that we supply are of superior quality, are durable and  complete with rubber borders.  They are suitable for most floor...

Fresher Is Always Better! Introducing The New AHS Urinal Screen!

For many companies across the business world it is of upmost importance to create a good impression that extends to the everyday working environment, this should also extend to the sometimes forgotten, washroom area. A common source of malodours can be found in the washroom, particularly, the gent’s urinals. Foul smells can have a negative impact on your organisation and the welfare and moral of your workforce. Up to five feet of the surrounding area of the urinal can be affected by urine splatter and splashback, which is why urinals present a common breeding ground for bacteria and bad odours. Urine droplets containing pathogens may contribute to the spread of sickness in the workplace. AHS Urinal screens have a multitude of beneficial qualities; releasing billions of optimised bacteria that sterilise and eliminate odours for a fresher environment.  Long protrusions eradicate splashback, reducing the spread of harmful bacteria at the shared standing area.  As the screen sits over the opening, it stops debris such as hair and chewing gum falling through which can contribute to blockages. Best of all, the urinal screen gives your washroom a splash of colour with a continuous fragrance. Alternating fragrances to prevent nose fatigue; AHS offers a service that replaces the screens for you, for continuously fresh washrooms. Follow this link to find out more: Urinal Screen...
